We use two proven methods to estimate the value of your company
Method 1: Earnings Multiple
Method 2: Discounted Cash
This valuation employs two proven techniques to estimate a range of the fair market value for your company. The valuation ranges are estimates only and may vary significantly from the true market value of your company based on your actual balance sheet, revenue and earnings history, competitive position, and market demand.
Valuation methods explained
This calculator employs two proven techniques to provide you with an estimate range of the fair market value of your company.
The results apply a multiple to your current pretax earnings, based on the value of comparable transactions. The multiple method captures the current value without considering future growth. Why do we not consider growth in the method? A buyer may look at your current earnings and decide your business is only worth the proven earning power. For this method, use the last 12 months’ pre-tax earnings.
Another method includes the value of growth and values the cash flows available to the owner of your business. A buyer may decide your business is worth the value of the cash he can take out of it in the future. In this method, you make an assumption about the growth rates of your revenues and assuming a consistent pre-tax margin. Many times, this method is slightly higher than the multiple method because it includes the value of future growth.
